Volunteering at Central

Find a Role You Love.

On this page you’ll find all you need to know about our volunteer process. Not sure where to start? Where are your strengths? What brings you joy? Are you people or task-oriented? Is there an area you’d like to grow in? These are a few questions to ask yourself, and our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@centralcc.ca would be happy to help you find an area that will best suit you.

We want you to find an area that you love to serve in.

The Process

Four Steps to Serving.

01

Step One

Pick Your Area.

See the list of opportunities available here at Central, from Sunday teams to mid-week roles and even some served from home. Still can’t decide? Email volunteer@centralcc.ca.

Step Two

Fill Out the Application.

Once you have an idea of where you’d like to serve, fill in the application and we’ll send a confirmation email while it’s processed. Ages 12 to 17 can apply too; a parent completes the Jr. application on your behalf. Already serving and want to try something new? Use the Area Change Form. Prefer paper? Pick one up at the white Connections wall in the lobby.

Step Three

Complete Your Training.

We value the safety and security of everyone here, especially children and vulnerable adults, so every volunteer completes Abuse Prevention Training. Once your application is reviewed, we’ll contact you about your next steps, and the online training link lands right in your inbox.

Step Four

Bring In Your Police Check.

All volunteers complete a Police Background Check; the form is given at your training session and can take several weeks to come back. Once you have it, bring it to the white Connections wall in the lobby.

Questions

You’ve Probably Got Questions.

Yes, absolutely! This is a great place to get started as we walk you through the process and train you in an area you’re interested in. And there are so many different areas to explore. We want you to find one that you love to serve in!

We can totally appreciate that! Fortunately, each role has its own flexible time commitments. Some roles are as little as one hour per month, and some are much more involved. There are opportunities to serve at one or both Sunday Experiences, but we also have mid-week opportunities and even some roles that are completed from home! Begin by assessing your available time and which days work best for you, and then we can explore your fit better.

It is our desire to create a safe space for our community to grow in faith, and part of that is creating a standard of care that everyone values and upholds. So, we require all volunteers to complete a screening process that requires abuse prevention training and a police check. It is a high priority for us to protect the vulnerable individuals within our community, and we’re here to equip you to do just that!

That’s totally OK! We have many different opportunities available and would love to walk with you through the journey of finding your best fit. You can connect with us by emailing volunteer@centralcc.ca.

Absolutely! You can fill out our Area Change Form.
